This study analyzed the effect of healing power of love on human life and problems, and then applied it in a way of Christian counseling. It is still hard to mean love literally and establish it, but healing power of love was scientifically approved through the studies of hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.
The study aimed to find out that healing power of love has the superior power to medical techniques or authoritative counseling techniques. Therefore, it presented healing power of love resulted from elements of love and results of love based on the understanding of the meaning of love, and raised the problems caused by the lack of love. The power of love not only has physical, psychological, and spiritual healing but also becomes the motivation beyond the problems of fear and pain in human life. In particular, love is the key of Christian which is based on love, so it is certain that the healing power of love is the importance source that should be specified and applied in Christian counseling.
Christian counselors should be improved as the counselors of love who have nine virtues of love such as patience, kindness, generosity, modest, manners, altruism, composure, honesty, and sincerity that Henry Drummond presented to every client based on I Corinthians 13. When Christian counselors treat clients with the attitude of love, the history of true healing and recovery will be held, and the counseling can change clients’ life to the life of the salvation and grace.

본 연구는 사랑의 치유력이 인간의 삶과 문제에 미치는 영향력을 분석한 후 기독교 상담적으로 적용하였다. 사랑을 문자적으로 정의하고 확립시키는 것은 아직도 난해한 연구과제이지만 사랑이 지닌 치유력은 전 세계에서 수십만 명을 대상으로 한 연구를 통해 과학적으로 입증되었다. 본 연구에서는 사랑의 의미의 이해를 바탕으로 사랑의 요소와 사랑의 결과로 사랑의 치유력과 사랑 결핍 시 발생되는 문제점들을 제시하였으며 기독교 상담에서 사랑의 중요성을 부각하고 기독교상담적 적용을 통해 정리하였다. 특히 사랑은 기독교의 핵심이며 사랑이 기본 전제로 되어진 종교이기 때문에 기독교상담에서 사랑의 치유력의 힘은 반드시 구체화되어야 하며 적용되어야 할 중요한 자원임에 틀림없다.
기독교상담자는 모든 내담자에게 Henry Drummond가 고린도전서 13장을 근거로 제시한 아홉 가지 사랑의 미덕인 인내, 친절, 관대함, 겸손, 예절, 이타심, 평정, 솔직함, 성실을 지닌 사랑의 상담자로 거듭나야 할 것이다. 기독교상담자가 사랑의 자세로 내담자에게 다가설 때 진정한 치유와 회복의 역사가 열리고, 내담자의 삶이 구원과 감사의 삶으로 변화되는 상담이 되리라고 본다.
