The purpose of this paper is talking about a role of supervisor in clinical pastoral education and finding out the rationale of strong recommendation for utilizing an adult learning methodology in clinical pastoral education process.
The writer classifies three parts how various adult learning theories are relevant with supervision skills of clinical pastoral education. Firstly, the writer attempt to make a fair both CPE student’s learning covenant and self-directed learning theory. Secondly, to reaffirm the other pair between participation in curriculum design of input theories in CPE and democratic communication mode or egalitarian relationship for somatic approach theories in adult education. Lastly, to explain relevance between interpersonal relationship, mid & end point evaluation in CPE and collaborative-experiential learning as well as transformative learning individually and the socially in adult education. The writer presents that Gerald O. Grow’s adult learning theory is so applicable to CPE and there is so similar transition.
In conclusion, the writer found out that utilizing of adult learning methodology is so helpful for CPE student’s learning goal achievement and their maturity during CPE program. Supervisor’s job is so effective and promotive his/her supervision too. The writer suggests that uprearing of CPE supervisor is more urgent matter than anything in Korea. Candidate of CPE and context are enough to be prepared on time. All of reader needs paying attention to do the task collectively.

본 논문의 목적은 목회임상교육에 있어 슈퍼바이저의 역할에 대하여 논의하면서 그 효과적인 역할을 수행하기 위해 성인교육방법론을 적극 추천하는 이유를 설명하기 위함이다. 임상목회교육 슈퍼비전을 수행하는 과정에 성인교육 방법에서 사용하고 있는 여러 이론들이 어떻게 연관되어 있는지 세 가지 영역으로 나누어 고찰하였다. 첫째는 학습자들이 설정하는 학습서약서 작성, 신청서 작성, 인생이야기 나눔을 준비하는 과정과 성인교육에서 학습자 자기주도형 방법론과 연관을 지었다. 둘째 영역은 이론과목 교과과정구성에 참여하여 슈퍼바이저와 동등한 대화를 나누며 동료들과 함께 민주적이고 수평적인 관계를 확장, 형성하게 되는 몸에 배는 교육과정과 연결 지을 수 있음을 확인하였다. 셋째는 상호인간관계나 중간 평가 그리고 기말 평가를 통해 개인과 사회적 확대 변화를 체득할 수 있는 경험교육과 서로의 상관성이 있음을 설명하였다.
결론적으로 성인교육방법론을 사용하는 슈퍼비전이 학습자가 목표하는 학습 성과를 잘 성취하게 뿐 아니라 학습자가 성장하는 길이라는 것과 슈퍼바이저가 해야 할 슈퍼비전에 있어 성인교육 방법론이 꼭 필요한 내용이며 효과를 증진할 수 있다는 점을 증명하였다. 아울러 국내에서 임상목회교육을 원하는 학습자와 학습의 장은 점차 커지고 있으므로 임상목회교육 전문 지도자 발굴 및 교육이 시급하다는 것을 강조하면서 지도자 양성을 위해 많은 관심을 가져야 할 것을 제언하였다.
