From detecting rather straightforward events as entering a room, being in the proximity of a certain object or identifying a person in the room, to the interpretation of events in which more persons are involved is a rather big step.
However, in ambient intelligence research small steps in this direction are taken. This paper was focused on visualizing activities in one virtual room. It can connect a single meeting participant travelling around or sitting in his or her own office environment to a smart meeting room located somewhere else. Ideas available in previous research have been extended in this paper, making use of research results that have become available in research projects on ambient intelligent and on multi-party interaction.
