The poetry of Koreans resident in China is the literature of historical experiences that was originated by Koreans who resided in China under the Japanese imperialism. Koreans resident in China, escaped from homeland under the Japanese imperialism, had to settle down in Russia or China because of the political situations and poor conditions in mother land. This study looked into the consciousness for homeland in Yeon Soo Shim's 76 Sijo that that were written with Korean alphabet during a journey in order to overcome those circumstances. In this study, there was a need to step inside how they described their identity for homeland and nostalgia in their literature. With regard this, The analysing of Yeon Soo Shim's Sijo is in order to bring you with a clue to understand Korean people's consciousness for homeland which was experienced during that period. Yeon Soo Shim's Sijo could be defined to the finding of road, esthetics in nature and road of hometown in the place of reality, the consciousness of history in the travel and the consciousness of homeland in the place of rememberance. It can be classified such as nostalgia, harmony with nature, historical consciousness and the remembrance according to sijo objects. The consciousness for home land in Yeon Soo Shim's sijo is defined that a kind of exit in order to overcome the circumstances, which were the conflict of an immigrant and poor conditions, with various literary changes under the Japanese imperialism. Although his desire to come back home was in his inner world, thirsty for home and nostalgia were just expressed in his works. The consciousness for home land in Shim's sijo, as the origin of Korean literature, can provide us with the identity of Korean literature, Korean and Korean race. With regard to the historical circumstances, the consciousness in Yeon Soo Shim' sijo, which was written by Korean alphabet under the Japanese imperialism, brings us a chance to look into the meaning of Korean literature history.

재중 조선인 시문학은 일제강점기에 중국 내 조선인 시인들에 의해 형성되어진 역사적 체험의 문학이다. 일제강점기의 탄압을 피해 러시아와 중국으로 건너왔던 재중 조선인은 고국의 정치적 현실과 빈곤한 생활 여건에 의해 고향으로 귀환하지 못하고 정착하였다. 본고는 이러한 현실을 극복하고 1940년 재중 조선인 심연수가 여행 중에 한글로 창작한 시조 76편의 고향의식을 집중적으로 살펴보았다. 이 연구는 재중 조선인의 고향에 대한 정체성과 동경 등을 어떻게 문학적 표현으로 형성되어 왔는가를 주목할 필요가 있다. 여기서 심연수의 시조를 연구함으로써 재중 조선인이 겪었던 고향의식이 새로운 이해의 기초를 마련하고자 한다. 심연수의 시조 작품을 내용에 따라 현실공간으로서의 길 찾기, 자연과 고향길의 미학, 여행으로서의 역사의식 그리고 회상공간으로서의 고향으로 유형화 할 수 있다. 심연수의 시조를 시적 대상에 따라 고향에 대한 애향심과 자연과의 만남, 역사의식 그리고 추억으로 세분화할 수 있다. 그러므로 심연수의 고향의식은 시대적 환경조건에서 오는 유년시절의 회상과 고국의 자연예찬 그리고 문화 유적지와 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다. 심연수 시조의 고향의식은 일제강점기 현실에서 다양한 문학적 변화를 보이면서도 궁핍과 이주민으로서의 갈등을 극복하기 위한 탈출구로 창작된 것으로 보인다. 그는 고향으로 귀향하고자 하는 마음은 무의식 속에 잠재되어 있지만 끝내 동경과 향수라는 회상공간으로 작품 속에 표현되고 있다. 심연수의 시조에 나타나는 고향의식은 우리 문학의 기초가 되는 시조로써 한국 문학의 정체성과 개인과 민족의 정체성을 드러내는데 정당성을 찾아낼 수 있게 한다. 일제강점기에 한글로 창작된 재중 조선인 심연수 시조에 나타나는 고향의식은 문학사적 의의를 재확인 할 수 있는 계기를 마련한다. 이로 인하여 재중 조선인 심연수 시조가 노산 이은상으로부터 영향을 받은 것으로 확인된다.
