The purpose of this study finds out the relationship with environment and designers that is designer’s responsibility on environmental issues. Ecological design can be defined as making products and services for decreasing environmental problems and issues. So this study focuses on the activities of service design. Strictly, I have researched the activities of designer’s service for ecological design and find out the cases of environmental cognition among general people. The case study analyzes 3 characteristics about contents design, interoperability, user interface centered on website for environmental improvement. Ecological design is method for improving the effect of environment in developing website contents. That is proven from many results of studies how affect to designers in the phase of developing web contents, especially in the planning phase. This study has an emphasis on the responsibilities of designer to environmental issues and more need to survey to check out cognition status.

본 연구는 환경문제와 디자이너의 관계 즉, 환경적 문제 개선에 대한 디자이너의 책임의식에 관한 연구이다. 에콜로지컬 디자인은 환경문제를 최소로 줄일 수 있도록 제품이나 서비스를 디자인하는 활동이라고 정의할 수 있으나, 본 연구에서는 서비스를 디자인 하는 활동에 국한된 연구를 하였다. 즉, 에콜로지컬 디자인을 향한 디자이너의 서비스 활동에 대한 연구이며 일반인들의 환경인식을 전환시키는 사례를 연구하였다. 사례연구는 환경개선 목적의 웹 사이트를 중심으로 콘텐츠의 설계적 측면, 상호작용 측면, 인터페이스 측면을 중심으로 분석을 하였다. 이는 세 가지 측면 모두 디자이너의 참여와 역량이 필요한 부분이기 때문이다 에콜로지컬 디자인은 웹 콘텐츠 개발 및 모든 단계에서 잠재적인 환경 영향을 개선하고자 하는 기법으로, 사이트를 구성하는 콘텐츠나 기획단계 또는 디자인이 사용자들에게 어떠한 영향을 끼치는지는 다양한 연구 결과를 통해 입증된 사실이기 때문이다. 본 연구를 통해 환경문제와 디자이너의 책임의식의 중요성을 더욱 강조하게 되었으나, 향후 설문 등을 통해 환경개선 목적의 웹사이트를 통해 방문자의 의식이 개선되었는지 검증할 필요가 있다.
