The Purpose of this study is to verify the effect that literary activity getting in language development(vocabulary, comprehensiveness, expression) of the children, and how does the literary activity have an effect on the children's language development in accordance with children's sex. The literary activity means activity that do it to learn vocabulary and expressions that is included in childhood picture book with direct experience progressing walking activity after have gathered in walking place and hear a childhood picture book. The subjects of this study, 40 young children - 4·5 years old - of G kindergarten located in Chonbuk, were selected. The tools used in the test, be made up of 20 childhood picture books which is suitable for the subject of walking activity and walking place. Also, the books include content that vocabulary connected to the each subject and creative expression etc. In order to examine the influence of literary activity on the children's language development, the other tool which Park AeJa(1996) changed the language competence test of Jang YoungAe(1981) was used. Pre-test and post-test were performed by language competence test. In order to verify each subject of this study, the date were analyzed t-test for the change of the pre-test and post-test point by SPSS statistics program.
The results are followed; Literary activity has an effects on the children's language development. There was a meaningful difference within p<.001 of significant level(t=-13.349). Detailed results on each subject of this study are as follows;
Firstly, this study showed that literary activity has an affirmative effect on the children's vocabulary. Secondly, this study showed that literary activity has an affirmative effect on the children's language comprehensive faculty. Thirdly, this study showed that literary activity has an affirmative effect on the language power of expression. At last, literary activity has an effects on the language development of boys and girls in accordance with children's sex. However, they didn't show the significant difference in the children's language development. The result of this study verified that literary activity has a positive impact on the improvement of children's
language development.

본 연구는 문학 활동이 유아의 언어발달에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보는데 목적을 둔다. 본 연구의 구체적인 연구문제는 문학 활동이 유아의 언어발달(어휘력, 언어이해력, 언어표현력)에 미치는 영향과 성별에 따라 어떻게 차이가 있는지를 밝히는 것이다. 문학활동(산책을 통한 문학 활동)이란 산책 장소에서 모여 앉아 선정된 동화책을 듣고 난 후산책활동을 진행하면서 직접적 경험과 함께 동화책에 포함된 어휘와 표현들을 자연스럽게 익히게 하는 활동을 의미한다. 연구 대상은 만 4세아 20명과 만 5세아 20명 총 40명의 유아이며 7주간 총 20회에 걸쳐 실험처치가 이루어졌다. 본 실험에 사용된 도구는 산책 장소 및 주제에 적합한 내용으로 각 주제와 관련된 어휘, 독창적·창의적 표현 등이 포함되어 구성되어진 동화책 20권을 선정하였다. 또한, 유아의 언어능력을 측정하기 위하여 장영애(1981)가 선행연구를 기초로 하여 4～6세아의 수준에 맞게 제작한 언어능력 검사를 박애자(1996)가 수정·보완한 것을 사용하였다. 실험처치 전 사전 검사를 통해 실험집단의 언어능력 발달정도를 검사하고 문학 활동 프로그램을 실시한 후 사후검사를 실시하여 유아의 언어발달에 미치는 효과를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구결과, 문학 활동이
유아의 성차에 따른 언어능력 발달에 차이가 없음과 남·여 모든 유아의 언어능력 및 각 하위영역(어휘력, 언어이해력, 언어표현력)에 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
