The purpose of this thesis is conscious of independence. I make investigation into Gyumjae Jungsun(1676-1759)′s Paintings for understanding traditional culture correctly. Korea painting could get out of China in Jingeong age which was active Gyumjae Jungsun. He was aware of The Book of Changes and tried to paint the harmony and contrast of lunar and solar. So He was famous for China. He depicted independence of Korea as painting with the idea of Joseon Sung Confucianism and the principle of The Book of Changes. I will tell you the principle of The Book of Changes, which is connected with Gyumjae Jungsun′s most important work. 1. Mt. Geumgangsan and Yin-Yang and the Five, principle of Yin-Yang symbol (Taegeuk), 2. Clearing after the rain at Mt. Inwangsan and rough sketch and adjoin writing, principle of vivid, 3. Cheongpunggye Valley and Yin-Yang wait and reply, principle of harmony, 4. Naksansa Temple and weakness and strength each other growth, principle of Changes of come and go, This is the way we can understand Korea history. The Book of Changes and Gyumjae Jungsun′s aesthetics have something in common with harmony. The Book of Changes had completed with the whole harmony which was made by each 64 divination sigh. Gyumjae Jungsun′s paintings was painted with appling The Book of Changes. So there were independence, alteration of come and go, balance of yin and yang, harmony and balance, each other meaning union, each other number union in his painting. The Book of Changes let human present why human is. It is called consciousness of fate. In addition, The Book of Changes is showed an ideal of human who participate in heaven and earth grow up with consciousness of fate. It will effect modern people to Gyumjae Jungsun′s unique and independence art based on The Book of Changes and philosophy. Studying Gyumjae Jungsun′s the True-view Landscape including aesthetics of The Book of Changes. I try to find originality and independence of Korean culture. I guess that modern people forget why human is. So I hope for people to conscious the independence of Korean culture. I wish that the method of finding identity of Korean culture is caused by Gyumjae Jungsun′s aesthetics of The Book of Changes.

본 논문은 주역을 통하여 겸재 정선의 미학의 주체성을 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 진경시대 서막을 알리며 나아가 그 결실을 영글게 만든 겸재로부터 바야흐로 조선은 중국회화의 그늘에서 벗어날 수 있었다. 특히 겸재는 周易에 정통한 인물이었는데, 이를 회화에 적극 투영시키고 있었다. 겸재의 작가정신을 주역으로부터 찾아보지 않으면 안 되는 이유가 여기에 있다. 겸재 정선의 작품 곳곳에는 조선 성리학의 이념과 함께 주역의 원리를 적극 도입하고 있는데, 그것이 곧 우리 민족의 주체성을 표현하는 것으로 나아간다. 그의 대표작을 살펴보면, 1. 金剛全圖와 陰陽․五行, 太極사상의 원리, 2. 仁王霽色圖와 河圖洛書, 生生의 원리, 3. 淸風溪와 陰陽對待, 中和의 원리, 4. 洛山寺와 虛實相生, 變易의 원리를 확인할 수 있는데, 이는 겸재만의 방식 즉 주역을 이용한 회화창작방식이라는 새로움을 확인하는 작업이다. 겸재는 우주만물의 생생한 미와 주역의 64괘에 내재된 각각의 의미가 전체의 조화로운 체계를 이루어 整體性, 變易性, 陰陽互補, 화합과 균형, 象意合一및 象數合一의 원칙을 철저하게 그의 작품 속에서 재현시키고 있다. 그것은 周易이 천명의 자각이라는 근원적인 존재 차원이기 때문에 인간에게 단순히 목표로 제시하는데 그치는 것이 아니라는 의식에 의해서다. 즉, 천명의 자각을 통해 천지화육에 동참하는 인간의 이상을 현실적 삶에서 구현해야 한다는 인식의 발로인 것이다.
