It is very interesting that the Students of the Graduate School of theology can analyze and evaluate the Preaching of Karl Barth, the greatest theologian in the 20th Century, through the Seminar "Praxis of Worship & Preaching". I am sure that with this Work and Process they can find out a good Image of Preacher, who is ungently needed for the 21st Century. For this Purpose this paper is written as following: Firstly, I have traslated K. Batrth's Preeaching(Matth. 6, 24-25) into Korean and presented it in part on this Paper, because it has been written in Germany and has not been introduced until today in Korea. Secondly, I have introduced an Outline of K. Barth's Life and Thought, and presented his Homiletics and some Works, so that I may deal with his Preaching in detail. Thirdly, with Relation to E. Thurneysen's 'Seelsorge als Gespräch' and 'Seelsorge als Verkündigung' I grope for the possibility of 'seelsorglich predigen'. Lastly, I connclude this Paper with a simple Proposal.

신학교/신학대학원의 ‘예배와 설교실연’이라는 세미나 과목에서 20세기의 가장 위대한 신학자로 일컫는 칼 바르트의 설교를 분석하고 평가한다는 것은 참으로 흥미로운 일이다. 이러한 과정을 통해서 학생들이 21세기를 향한 바람직한 설교자상을 추구할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해서 이 논문은 다음과 같이 서술되어질 것이다. 우선 필자 자신이 번역한 칼 바르트의 설교전문(마태 6: 24-34)이 제공될 것이다. 왜냐하면 이 독일어 설교문이 아직까지 한국어로 번역되지 않았기 때문이다. 다음으로 바르트의 설교전문을 각론적으로 좀 더 세밀하게 분석하고 평가하기 위해서, 그의 ‘생애와 사상’을 개략적으로 소개하면서, 그의 “설교학”과 그에 관련한 도서들을 과제로 부여하고 논평했다. 셋째로 바르트의 평생지기 동료인 E. 투르나이젠(Eduard Thurneysen, 1888-1974)의 “대화로서의 목회”(Seelsorge als Gespräch)와 “선포로서의 목회”(Seelsorge als Verkündigung)와 관련해서 “목회적인 설교”(seelsorglich predigen)의 가능성을 살펴보고, 마지막으로 평가와 제언으로써 결론을 맺을 것이다.
