Iching has been taught people wisdoms of Sijung since it appeared in oriental society thousands years ago. Sijung means each of us meets the change of the present situation reasonably and practices the timely truth. The current society we've been living is infra-structured by various kinds of visible or invisible networks. This society is called 'network society' which is characteristic of inter-connectivity, interactivity, and complexity, etc. This thesis is to study whether and how the wisdoms of Iching can be helpful for behaviors in network society. For this, the meaning of several hexagrams and the new paradigm of network society were reviewed. Then, which hexagrams give what wisdoms to individuals, organizations, and difficult situations in network society was discussed. In network society, individuals are surfing internet, meeting, chatting, and making groups to implement meaningful works. To these, some hexagrams give wisdoms such as the ethics of rightness, the virtue of the mean. Organizations in network society should rebuild and reform inner sub- organizations, cooperate with other organizations including citizen alliances, competing firms, and government organs. To these, some hexagrams give wisdoms such as faithfulness, considerateness, and completeness. Other hexagrams give also wisdoms such as neighborhood, non-selfishness, and self-discipline, to difficult situations lack in communication in network society.

{周易}은 시대를 넘어 수천 년 동안 시중의 지혜를 가르쳐 왔다. 隨時變易의 원리에 따라 상황과 때에 알맞게 판단하고 행동하는 처신의 지혜가 {周易} 64괘 384효의 괘효사에 담겨 있다. 현대 사회는 유무형의 네트워크가 사회의 주요 인프라가 되면서 연동성, 복잡성, 상호작용성과 같은 새로운 패러다임의 속성들이 나타나는 네트워크 사회이다. 이 연구는 󰡔周易󰡕의 時中 사상, 특히 彖傳에서 때의 중요성이 강조된 12괘의 卦爻辭 내용이 네트워크 사회에는 어떤 점에서 실천적 지혜를 줄 수 있는지를 드러내 보고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저, 󰡔周易󰡕 卦爻辭의 뜻풀이와 네트워크 사회의 속성을 검토한 후, 이들 12괘가 네트워크 사회의 개인과 조직, 그리고 소통부재의 어려운 상황에 줄 수 있는 시중의 지혜를 제시하였다. 旅 姤 豫 隨 遯 괘는 각각, 네트워크 사회의 개인이 여행하면서 찾아다니는 데 의롭게 하고, 만나는 데 正道를 지키며, 관계를 맺고 사귀는 데 순리대로 하고, 서로 따르는 데 의로움을 잃지 말며, 물러나고 헤어지는 데 中道를 지켜서 굳건함을 잃지 말라는 가르침을 준다. 頤 大過 解 革 괘는 각각, 네트워크 사회의 단체, 기업, 정부기관이 조직을 키우는 데 바르게 사심 없이 해야 하며, 조직 내부의 비대해지거나 지나친 부분을 도려내는 데 검약 근신하며 中道를 지키고, 조직이 직면한 어려운 국면을 풀어가는 데 맡은 직분과 때에 따라 각기 충실해야 하며, 조직을 혁신하고자 할 때는 심사숙고해서 완전하고 진실되게 해야 함을 일러주고 있다. 坎 蹇 睽 괘는 개인이나 조직이 소통의 어려움을 겪을 때, 교만과 독선을 버리고 이웃과 손을 잡고 어려운 일을 해결하며, 자신을 돌이켜서 덕을 닦고 다른 사람의 도움도 받되 솔선해서 어긋남을 바로 맞추어 가는 것이 중요함을 가르쳐 준다.
