In this paper, we are going to look over written by YuDeukgong. includes 277 poems by 91 East Asian literary men from China, Japan, Anam, Yugu. It has scarcity value as a book of selected poems edited by a Joseon intellectual. The motivation of editing this book seems to be derived from the writer’s will for learning Ching dynasty and a viewpoint that recognizes the world together. He argued that to write great poems, literary men must study Ching poetry (淸詩) and learn overseas great poems of the same age. was edited in 1796 from the book and which had been written by him 20 years before then. The intellectuals in can be divided into three groups. The first one includes people who YuDeukgong companied with by missions. The second one contains people of YuDeukgong’s friends like HongDaeyong (洪大容) and Yugeum (柳琴). People who YuDeukgong just heard from others can be the third one. Accordingly, poems in the book have diverse sources. plays an integral role in observing the international exchange between Bukhak-pa and Ching intellectuals. Also it is possible to look over the friendly cultural exchange between Japan, Anam, Yugu and Joseon. In conclusion, is a valuable record which shows the international cultural exchange between Joseon and East Asian countries in the 18th century.

본고는 柳得恭이 편찬한 『並世集』에 대한 연구이다. 『並世集』은 중국, 일본, 안남, 유구 등 동아시아 4國의 총 91명 문사들의 시 277수를 수록하였다. 이 책은 조선 문인이 편찬한 동아시아 詩選集으로서 역사상 보기 드문 경우이다. 『並世集』은 현재 4종의 필사본이 전하는데 국립중앙도서관에 1종, 규장각에 2종, 미국 하버드대학교의 옌칭도서관에 1종이 소장되어 있다. 이 중에서 국립중앙도서관 소장본은 1807년 이전에 필사한 것으로서 여러 이본 중에서 가장 일찍 필사된 것이다. 또한 유득공 자신의 원고지에 필사하여 유득공의 자필원고일 가능성이 크다. 『並世集』의 편찬은 유득공의 ‘북학’의식과 ‘병세’의식을 보여준다. 이런 의식에서 출발하여 유득공은 20년 전에 편찬했던 『巾衍外集』과 『中州十一家詩選』을 바탕으로 刪削과 增補를 거쳐 1796년에 다시 『並世集』을 편찬하였다. 『並世集』에 수록한 시의 수집 경로는 주로 세 가지로 분류할 수 있다. 첫째는 유득공이 연행을 통해 직접 교유했던 인물들로부터 받은 증답시와 시문집에서 선록한 것이고, 둘째는 洪大容, 柳琴, 元重擧 등 주변 친우들이 교유한 인물들의 수창시이거나 시문집에서 뽑은 것이고, 셋째는 청조 인사들로부터 전해들은 유명 인사들의 시를 간접적으로 얻은 경우이다. 『並世集』의 수록시를 통해 유득공을 비롯한 조선 문인들이 청조, 일본, 안남, 유구 등 주변국가와 진행한 국제교류를 확인해 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 『並世集』은 18세기 조선과 동아시아 국가 간의 문화교류를 살펴볼 수 있는 좋은 자료이다.
