This study aims to review the relationship between principal's leadership style such as transformation and transaction leadership and organizational commitment. Due to this, the study selected 300 teachers among middle and high school in Suwon City. Our sampling has shown several opinions as following: Firstly, principals have to consider teacher's sex types in the school management. Because men's teachers have agreed or liked principal's transformation leadership and affective commitment more than women's teachers. Secondly, principals have shown their transaction leadership so as to improve teacher's continuance commitment in the school. Also, transformation leadership is more important factor than transaction leadership in order to improve teacher's affective commitment. Thirdly, teachers have always shown complex
behavior in their work fields. Therefore, principal's leadership is very important agent in reinventing school program and pursuing school's competitiveness.

조직성과와 조직구성원의 노동의 질에 영향을 미치고 있는 조직몰입이 조직의 리더들이 표출하는 리더십 유형에 따라 어떻게 영향을 받는지에 대한 연구는 매우 중요한 의의가 있을 것이다. 이런 맥락에서 본 연구는 학교교육의 혁신에 중추적 역할을 담당하고 있는 학교장이 발휘하는 변혁적·거래적 리더십이 교사들의 조직몰입에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지를 체계적으로 분석하고, 분석결과를 통하여 학교장의 바람직한 리더십 모형에 대한 정책적시사점을 찾고자 했다. 이를 위해 경기도 수원시에 소재하는 중․고등학교에 재직하는 교사 300명을 대상으로 한설문조사분석을 통하여 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 정책적 시사점은 ①학교장은 학교운영에 있어 성별에 따른 리더십의 역할을 고려할 필요가 있다. ②학교장의 거래적 리더십을 잘 활용하는 것이 교사들의 유지적 몰입을 향상하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 판단할 수 있다. ③교사들이 조직생활에 있어 복잡한 행태를 표출하고 있기 때문에 학교장의 역할이 중요하다.
