It is purpose to examine actual conditions of South-North woman interchange cooperation and present direction hereafter. There is duty that women should take charge since unity or area of only woman among role that should achieve, and to solve social conflict since unity without help of woman, there is difficulty. This can know in German example. Germany was hard that achieve woman policy effectively after unity realized that women's problem is secondary in unity process. South-North Korea woman interchange mutually between can solved this different element after unity because elevates comprehension and can raise political and social participation of woman. South and north Korea woman interchange said ‘The debate's about role of woman and peace of Asia’ that is gone from 1991 till 1993 beginning. Thereafter, South-North woman interchange accumulates experience and capacity through interchange form such as South-North woman unity debate, South-North woman unity event, South-North woman chief meeting etc. Nevertheless, South-North Korea woman interchange is state that is not activated as other field. Need network establishment between dimension of interchange or variety of subject and sisterhood for interchange to get effect. Also, it is important that construct infra that is human and physical base that can continue for long-term. This by basis, may exert positive influence on woman policy establishment after unity if woman interchange cooperation is activated.

남북여성교류협력의 실태를 살펴보고 향후 방향을 제시하는 것이 이글의 목적이다. 통일 이후 여성들이 담당해야할 임무나 수행해야할 역할 중 고유한 부문이 엄존하고 있고, 여성의 협조 없이는 통일 이후 사회적 갈등을 해결하는 데는 한계성이 있다. 이는 독일 사례에서 알 수 있다. 독일은 통일과정에서 여성 문제가 부차적인 것으로 치부되어 통일 이후 여성정책이 효과적으로 수행하기 힘들었다. 남북한 여성교류는 상호간 이해를 높여 통일 이후 이질감 해소할 수 있고 여성의 정치·사회적 참여를 높일 수 있다. 남북한 여성교류는 1991년부터 1993년까지 진행된 ‘아세아의 평화와 여성의 역할 토론회’를 출발로 해서 대북인도지원, 남북여성통일토론회, 남북여성통일행사, 남북여성대표자회의 등과 같은 교류 형태를 통해 경험과 역량을 축적하고 있다. 그럼에도 여성의 남북교류협력은 타분야 만큼 활성화되지 않은 상태다. 효과적인 교류를 위해서는 교류의 범위나 주체의 다양성과 여성단체 간 네트워크 확립이 필요하다. 또 장기적으로 지속할 수 있는 인·물적 기반인 인프라를 구축하는 것도 중요하다. 이를 바탕으로 여성교류협력이 활성화된다면 통일 이후 여성정책 수립에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것이다.
