Purpose: This study was conducted to explore methods of forming collaboration between parents and teachers of school-age children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to help the children adjust to school life without any trouble. Method: Focus group interviews were used to figure out difficulties in cooperation, which parents and teachers of ADHD children had experienced, and their ideas about how to develop cooperative relations between them. Participants were 9 mothers of school-age children with ADHD and 3 teachers who had taught ADHD children before. They were divided into 2 mother groups and 1 teacher group for the interviews. Results: It showed that mothers felt difficult to trust teachers for their children's teaching while teachers talked about lacks of communication and exhaustion of both teachers and parents as well as parents' concerns about their children's social stigmatization/dropout. For future developments, mothers told that they needed to build the trust with teachers and change themselves. Teachers suggested to build the trust with parents and participate it proactively. Finally, the psychiatric social worker discussed on how to support both parents and teachers of ADHD children on the basis of the results.

본 연구는 주의력 결핍 및 과잉행동장애(이하 ADHD) 아동의 원만한 학교적응을 위해 부모-교사간의 협력 관계 형성을 위한 방안을 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 ADHD아동의 부모-교사가 경험한 협력에서의 어려움과 그들이 생각하는 협력적 관계 형성 방안에 대해 알고자 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 사용하였다. 연구의 참여자는 학령기 ADHD아동을 둔 어머니 9명과 ADHD아동을 지도한 경험이 있는 교사 3명이었고, 2개의 어머니 집단과 1개의 교사 집단으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰가 실시되었다. 연구 결과 협력의 어려움으로 어머니들은 교사에게 ADHD 아동을 믿고 맡기기 힘듦을 나타냈고, 교사는 단절감, 교사-부모의 소진, 부모의 낙인감/ 박탈감이라는 주제로 협력의 어려움을 나타냈다. ADHD아동의 부모-교사간의 협력관계 형성 방안으로 어머니들은 신뢰관계형성과 자신들이 변화의 주체가 되야 함이 발견되었고, 교사들은 교사-부모가 신뢰관계형성하기, 적극적인 참여하기의 주제들로 나타냈다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 정신보건영역에서 사회복지사가 ADHD아동의 부모-교사를 원조하기 위한 방안에 대해 논의하였다.
