This study examined the Korean news in the 3 famous Chinese press of , and published from 1980 to 2004. As a result, after S. Korea and China signed a treaty of amity in 1992, the number of S. Korean news in Chinese newspaper went up to more than the four times of before and the scope of news coverage activities was expanded year by year. On the contrary, the number of N. Korean news was decreased by about 40 percents than before. Year by year, the standpoint of reporting S. Korean news was shifted from a little negative neutrality to a little positive neutrality, but the standpoint of reporting N. Korean news was shifted from positive to positive neutrality. Especially, the reporting standpoint of the fields of domestic politics, foreign policy, and the national defense and military affairs in which Chinese newspapers showed a manifest distinction between S. Korean and N. Korean news in the past days underwent a great change after signing a treaty of amity.

본 논문은 1980년부터 2004년까지 중국에서 발행된 3대 신문 <人民日報>와 <文滙報> 그리고 <光明日報>에 실린 남북한 관련기사들을 대상으로 내용분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 한중 수교를 계기로 남한 관련기사는 3배 이상 급증하였으며, 기사에서 다루는 주제나 관심분야도 날로 확대되었다. 북한 관련기사들은 전체적으로 남한 관련기사들에 비해 외교와 국방ㆍ군사 분야의 기사들이 많았는데 한중 수교 이후에는 외교, 스포츠ㆍ체육 분야를 비롯해 40% 가량 크게 감소하였다. 또한 해가 갈수록 남한 관련기사들의 보도방향은 약간 부정적인 중립에서 약간 긍정적 중립으로 크게 완화된 반면, 북한 관련기사는 긍정에서 긍정적 중립으로 크게 퇴보함으로써 상반된 방향의 변화가 나타났다. 특히, 과거에 남한과 북한 간에 가장 차별성이 심했던 국내정치, 국방ㆍ군사, 외교 분야에서 중요한 변화가 있었다.
