The significance of public design has been increased in diverse fields, the status of public design in Korea has not developed. and public design still has relatively lagged. This study is the reality of public design in Gunsan city. Especially, this study's goal is the realities of public facilities in Gunsan region. According to, this study is focusing on the recognition change of university Students in Gunsan region. Improvement in recognition of public design's concept can not has not been achieved in Gunsan city. It should be proceed along with the development of people's consciousness and cultural sentiment. And there should be a change recognition of university students like opinion leader in Gunsan region. As a result, this study were suggested a lot of solutions and strategies in public facilities with empirical study in Gunsan region. and Furthermore, this study results might be applied in other small cities like Gunsan city.

아름답고 살기좋은 도시를 만들고 가꾸어 나가야 할 20대의 젊은 대학생들의 공공디자인 및 공공시설물에 대한 인식의 정도를 실증적으로 분석해 보았다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. 하지만 다양한 연령대의 설문응답에 대한 과제는 향후 다른 연구에서 보완해야 할 것이다. 본 연구 결과 젊은 대학생들은 군산시의 공공시설물에 대한 관심과 참여의사에 있어서는 긍정적인 태도를 보였지만, 현재 설치되어 있는 공공시설물에 대한 인식은 부정적임을 알 수 있었다. 결국 군산시 등 지자체는 공공시설물을 설치 할 때 시민들이 적극적으로 참여 하여 자기가 살고 있는 거리를 더 아름답고 쾌적하게 만들어 나가도록 홍보 및 교육을 더욱 적극적으로 수행해야 할 것이며, 관 중심이 아닌 시민 참여형 거리 가꾸기를 수행해야 함을 시사 받을 수 있었다.
