The Business High Schools in Korea are suffering from diminishing of entering students nowadays. The first principle of resolving this problem should be to give students satisfaction with education. The objectives of this study are finding the factors influencing on school satisfaction of Business High School students and suggesting the way of resolving problems of Business High Schools. In this study, the Korean Education and Employment Panel (KEEP) data of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training was used. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows: First, differently from the previous studies, girl students are less satisfied than boy students. Business High Schools should change the curriculums to adapting new values of girl students and new trends of labor market of women. Secondly, general school facilities such as buildings and grounds had a positive impact on the satisfaction level of students, but practice facilities at the school had no significant impact on the level of satisfaction with schools. Thirdly, while the teaching activities of general subjects teachers such as Korean language, Mathematics, and English had no significant impact on students' school satisfaction level, but those of Major subjects teachers had a positive impact on the satisfaction level. The general subjects teachers of Business High Schools should improve the educational contents and teaching methods proper to the students.

본 연구는 상업계 고등학교 학생의 학교 만족도를 분석하여 학교교육과정의 문제를 진단하기 위한 연구로 한국직업능력개발원의 「한국교육고용패널」자료를 이용하여 실증 분석하였다. 논점의 명확한 진단을 위하여 같은 전문계열인 공업계와 비교하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여학생이 많은 상업계 고등학교의 학교 만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 낮은 학교만족도를 높이기 위하여 변화된 가치관과 교육 환경, 기업의 교육 수요 등을 고려하여 여학생에 적합한 학교 교육과정을 개발할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 전공실습 시설은 두 계열 모두 학교만족도에 별다른 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 전공실습에 대한 투자를 상업계 고등학교 보다 4배나 많이 하는 공업계 고등학교에서도 유의미한 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 전공실습에 투자되는 예산의 양보다는 질이 중요함을 보여주는 것이라고 판단된다. 셋째, 상업계 고등학교나 공업계 고등학교 모두 국어, 영어, 수학 등 보통교과를 담당하는 교사의 수업진행이 학생들의 학교만족도에 별다른 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 따라서 보통교과의 수업 지도도 전문계 고등학교의 학생수준 등을 고려 학생들에게 적합한 교육내용 및 교육방법 등을 제공하여 학생 만족도를 높일 필요가 있다.
