During generations to generations, the crow was worshipped by Koreans and Manchu Altaic ethnic group. They considered the crow as the numen of the sun, it’s the envoy of god. Since crow once helped them hunting and farming, this phenomenon was the result of this. But followed with the developments of productivity, the functions of crow in working and life was declined, so they reconsidered the figure and habits of crow, they thought crow as a whammy bird to pass the bad news. Many thought this was under the impact of the Chinese culture, in fact there were several myths and relics were about Han people who worshipped crow, this was carried in by Yin and Shang dynasties’ people separated from Dongyi people. After Yin and Shang dynasties’ people moved into Zhongyuan, followed with the long‐term agricultural working, the divine crow that is helpful to hunting and farming was replaced by swallow and other birds that had greater helps to agricultural working. Black appearance and the habit of pecking human and animals’ bones finally made itself a bird that symbols unlucky and whammy.

동북아시아지역에서 생활하여 온 朝鮮民族과 만－퉁구스 제 민족은 수렵생산에 일정한 도움을 가져다 준 까마귀를 태양의 精靈, 신의 使者로 숭배하여 왔다. 하지만 까마귀가 원시선민들의 생산․생활에서의 작용이 날로 약화됨에 따라 까마귀는 신의 나쁜 소식을 전달하는등 不祥鳥로 변모하게 되었다. 많은 학자들은 이것은 중국 中原地區문화의 영향을 받은 결과라고인정하고 있는데 사실은 이와 반대로 중국 중원지구에서는 까마귀를 숭배한 유적들이 많이 발견되었다. 그것은 東夷族에서 제일 먼저 분리되어 나온 殷商민족이 중국 중원지구로 입주하면서 까마귀숭배사상을 전파하였던 것이다. 殷商민족은 장기간 농경생산에 종사하면서 원래 수렵생산에 유익하여 신으로 숭배하던 까마귀를 농경생산에 더욱 유리한 제비로 대체하였던 것이다.
