The purpose of this study was to investigate and verify business information high school students' image of accounting subjects. After deciding the variables and methods for image investigation, 886 students are randomly selected from business information high school students in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province and let them respond to the meaning-analysis questionnaires. The results of this study are as follow. First, the high school students's general image of accounting subjects was slightly more than moderate, neither positive nor negative. Second, students' image of accounting subjects showed that there were few conspicuous differences in students' gender. By category male students think accounting subjects are man-oriented and they have more interests, enthusiasm, open-mind about the subjects than female students do. Third, students' image of accounting subjects showed that there were noticeable differences in students' department. The students in accounting-involved departments showed more positive attitude than the ones in other departments. Fourth, students' image of accounting subjects showed that there were noticeable differences according to the grade of students.

본 연구는 상업정보계열 고등학교 학생들의 회계교과에 대한 이미지를 실증적으로 조사하는데 목적을 두고 수행되었다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 선행 연구 검토를 통해 이미지 조사를 위한 변인과 연구 방법을 결정하고 서울, 경기, 인천의 상업정보계열 고등학교 학생 886명을 대상으로 의미 분석법에 의한 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 회계교과에 대한 전체의 이미지는 기준을 약간 상회하는 수준으로 교과에 대한 긍정적이지도 부정적이지도 않은 중도적인 경향을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 성별에 따른 회계교과의 이미지는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 항목별 이미지에서는 남학생이 여학생에 비해 회계교과에 대해 재미있고, 의욕적이며, 남성적이고, 트였다고 느끼고 있었다. 셋째, 학과에 따른 회계교과의 이미지는 유의한 차이가 있었다. 회계관련학과 재학생이 비회계관련학과 재학생들에 비해 회계교과에 대해 긍정적인 경향을 가지고 있었다. 넷째, 회계교과에 대한 학년별 이미지는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 조사 결과 다른 학년에 비해 11학년 학생들이 회계교과에 대한 긍정적 경향이 있었다.
