This study compared and analysed the frame of broadcastings and newspapers concerning their assessment about the property inspection reports of senior government officials. The broadcasting most emphasized on ‘law/order frame’ and the newspapers on ‘economic frame’. When considering the broadcasting’s tendency of more stressing on morality, identifying responsibility, and law/order than that of newspapers, we can see that it puts significance on observing law related with politic context. While newspapers put significance on economic aspect rather than legal conflict, which shows its characteristic in the depth. Second, the analysis on the frames among major newspapers and the others shows newspapers so much stress on the economic frame that they less consider the others’ aspect. while the broadcasting shows various aspects of reports from the area of law and order to economy, morality, and responsibility. Third, the comparison of major standpoint between those media in the news frames shows both of them have the same opinion in the sense that they have the major standpoint to value the increase and decrease of property as the most important ‘economic frame’.

본 연구에서는 고위공직자의 재산검증보도가 매체에 따라 어떤 의미를 부여하고 있는지에 대해 방송과 신문의 프레임을 비교 분석하였다. 방송에서 가장 많이 나타난 것은 ‘법/질서 프레임’이고 신문에서는 ‘경제적 프레임’이 가장 높다. 방송의 보도 성향이 신문보다 도덕성과 책임규명, 법/질서 등에서 우위를 차지한 것으로 보아 법을 준수하고자 하는 시각을 정치 맥락과 연관되는 방식으로 의미화하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 또한 신문에서는 법안에 대한 갈등보다도 경제적인 측면에 의미를 두고 있음을 볼 수 있으며, 신문보도의 심층성을 보여 주는 것으로 파악된다. 두 번째, 주요 뉴스프레임과 여타 프레임들 간의 관계 분석에서, 신문에서는 두드러지게 경제적인 프레임만을 강화하여 여타 프레임의 비중을 적게 두는 반면, 방송의 보도는 법과 질서뿐만 아니라 경제, 도덕성, 책임감에 이르기까지 다양한 보도를 하고 있는 것으로 드러났다. 세 번째, 뉴스 프레임의 매체 간 핵심 입장 비교에서는 두 매체 모두에서 상위를 점하는 ‘경제적 프레임’의 핵심 입장이 재산증감이라는 측면에서 일치하고 있다.
