Consumer Adoption of Ubiquitous Technology : Focusing on RFID Technology

초록

영어

RFID technology is useful in daily life. Nevertheless, RFID technology leads to the problems of privacy and security with regard to the misuse of tag information and the lack of systematic information management. Therefore, consumers develop negative attitudes and hesitate to accept RFID technology. According to Hossain & Prybutok (2008), presently, RFID research on consumers’ intentions to adopt RFID is at an exploratory level. Many studies are being conducted with regard to various industries and the application of business processes. In this study, we examine the consumer acceptance of RFID technology in Korea by using the model of Hossain & Prybutok (2008). The research results will provide useful guidelines in terms of the establishment of corporate strategy with regard to RFID and help us understand how RFID accommodates consumer needs.
