The objective of this study is to investigate the recognition of daycare centers' workers on the multi-cultural daycare of the children in multi-cultural home in order to establish an improvement way in the daycare policy for the children in multi-cultural home. Based on the objective of this study, the specific issue on this study can be configured as follows. First, in general issues on the daycare for multi-cultural home, what are the causes of the forming of multi-cultural home including parents with different nationalities and the presence of daycare in their children? Second, are there any differences in the recognition of daycare centers' workers according to the presence of daycare in children and in the daycare of children between the regular home and the multi-cultural home? Third, how are the daycare program and environment in the daycare center for the children in multi-cultural home and for the relation to local social communities? The subjective of this study was determined by 374 daycare centers in Changwon from Sep.15 to Oct. 10 and the study distributed 300 questionnaires in this period. Then, the frequency analysis was applied for final 116 questionnaires. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the answer for 'Yes' for the necessity of bilingual education showed a high rate of 87.1% due to the need of bilingual daycare in which the answer for the place for the bilingual education was 'Daycare Center' as the highest rate of 40.5%. Second, it was investigated that the children in multi-cultural home showed associated plays. Also, in the workers for the daycare program, they contributed to the active participation and positive daycare environments in the daycare of the children in multi-cultural home. It means that the daycare centers' workers showed were no discriminative treatments in the daycare of children between the regular and the multi-cultural home in the cognitional development. Third, there were very few signs on the bilingual guidance in daycare environments and lacks in daycare environments for allowing the approach to the daycare facility for the children in multi-cultural home.

본 연구의 목적은 보육시설 종사자들의 다문화 보육에 관한 인식을 알아봄으로써 다문화가정 아동에 대한 보육정책에 대한 개선방안을 마련하고자 하였다. 이와 같은 목적에 따라 구체적인 연구 문제를 설정하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정 보육에 대한 일반적인 사항으로 다문화보육아동의 보육유무와 함께 부모의 국적과 다문화 가정 형성원인은? 둘째, 다문화가정 아동의 보육 유·무에 따른 보육시설 종사자의 인식, 다문화가정보육아동이 있는 경우 일반아동과의 보육 상의 차이가 있는가? 셋째, 다문화보육에 대한 어린이집의 보육활동, 보육시설과 지역사회와의 연계활동 보육내용 및 보육환경은 어떠한가? 이다. 연구대상은 창원시 전체 374개소의 어린이집을 대상으로 9월 15일부터 10월 10일까지 300부의 설문지를 배부하였으며, 최종적으로 116부의 설문지를 토대로 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 다문화 보육은 이중 언어의 사용이 필요할 수 있기에 아동의 이중 언어에 교육의 필요성은 ‘필요하다’고 응답한 수가 87.1%로 높게 나타났으며, 이들의 이중 언어 교육의 장소는 ‘보육시설이 되어야한다‘가 40.5%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화 보육아동은 또래와 연합놀이를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 보육시설 종사자들의 보육과정 중 보육아동의 적극적인 참여와 긍정적 보육환경을 조성한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 보육시설 종사자들이 인지발달영역에서 다문화가정 보육아동과 일반아동을 차별하지 않는다는 것을 의미한다. 셋째, 보육환경에 있어서 다언어적 안내 표지판이 거의 없었으며, 다문화가정 아동이 보육시설에 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 하는 보육적 환경이 구성되어 있지 않았다.
