This study was to analyze the current preventive measures on alcohol- involved accident and the factors that affect such preventive measures in the construction industry. Method: The survey was administered to examine how the preventive measures on alcohol-involved accident were executed using the data of ‘2005 Occupational Safety and Health Survey’ conducted in 2005 by the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute. For this study, we analyzed 944 work places in the construction industry. Result: The preventive measures on alcohol- involved accident were being executed in 62.1% of construction companies. As for the number of actual preventive measures on alcohol-involved accident, work places in Jeolla-do executed 2.63 times more frequently than those in Chungcheong-do, and work places with the Occupational Safety and Health Conference executed 2.22 times more frequently than those without such a measure. Conclusion: Joining the Occupational Safety and Health Conference was to be one of the most influential ways of preventive measures on alcohol-involved accident in the construction industry. Accordingly, if workers and employers look for active measures and administer them through the Occupational Safety and Health Conference, it will reduce alcohol-involved accident in the construction industry and contribute to the better preventive measures on alcohol-involved accident in the construction and other industries.

본 연구는 건설업 사업장의 음주사고 예방대책 실시현황을 살펴보고, 음주사고 예방대책에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하기 위한 것이다. 방법 : 본 연구는 한국산업안전공단의 산업안전보건연구원에서 2005년에 실시한 ‘2005년 산업안전보건 동향조사’ 자료를 이용하였으며, 분석대상 사업장은 건설업 944개소였다. 결과 : 연구대상 사업장의 음주사고 예방대책 실시여부를 살펴본 결과 62.1%로 나타났다. 음주사고 예방대책 실시여부에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 충청도보다 전라도 지역에서 음주사고 예방대책을 2.63배 더 많이 실시하는 것으로 나타났고, 산업안전보건협의체가 설치되어 있는 사업장이 미설치된 사업장보다 음주사고 예방대책을 2.22배 더 많이 실시하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구결과 건설업에서 음주사고 예방대책 실시여부에 가장 영향을 미치는 요인 중 산업안전보건협의체 설치가 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 산업안전보건협의체를 통해 근로자와 사업주가 적극적인 방안을 모색하고 그 방안을 시행한다면 건설업의 음주사고를 줄이는데 기여하고 다른 사업장에서도 음주사고 예방대책을 실시하는데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.
