This paper makes inquiries about utility of Dokseoseong for moral education in Korea. In the secondary level, moral education textbooks have some parts as follows: 8 of 7th grade, 4 of 8th grade, 7 of 9th grade, and 2 of 10th grade. Each grades' textbooks show a little bit differences. This paper raises the Syllabus of Moral Education using Dokseoseong. It describes introduction, deploy, summary in sequence. It shows the way to utilize small group to make participation easily. This effort has significance in terms of modernization of Dokseoseong for modern moral education. In order to advance efficiency of current moral education using Dokseoseong, this paper suggests some points as follows: Firstly, moral education has to consider the sequence among grades more carefully and precisely. Secondly, moral education has to select the Korean traditional source of Dokseoseong much more and frequently. Current textbooks tend to Chinese figures and sources. Thirdly moral education has to take advantages on Korean traditional religion and Buddhism and instead of in-coming thought and religion, e.g., Confucianism, Taoism. Korean traditional sound of Dokseoseong is a sort of self-training sound of Korean traditional scholars(Seonbi). So it gives lots of implications to modern moral education. It is very necessary to recover the traditional sound and take much more efforts for current moral education.

이 논문은 한문을 소리내어 읽는 독서성의 도덕교육적인 활용방안을 탐색했다. 중등 도덕교과서에서 실제 한문 독서성의 제재로 사용될 수 있는 대목을 찾아보았다. 그 결과 7학년의 경우 8개, 8학년의 경우 4개, 9학년의 경우 7개, 그리고 10학년의 경우 2개로 학년간에는 약간의 차이를 보이고 있음을 발견했다. 이 논문은 독서성을 활용한 실제 도덕과 수업지도안을 상정했다. 기술은 도입, 전개, 정리 순으로 했다. 모둠별 활동을 고려하여 참여학습이 될 수 있도록 구성해보았다. 이러한 시도는 한문 독서성을 현대 도덕과 교육에 실제 적용하고 있다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 이 논문은 독서성을 활용한 도덕교육의 효과성을 증진하기 위해, 다음 몇 가지를 제언한다. 우선 먼저 학년별 계열성을 고려해야 한다. 난이도가 낮은 원전을 저학년용에 배치하고 어려운 책은 고학년용에 배치해야 할 것이다. 둘째, 등장인물이나 원전의 선택에 있어서 우리의 전통을 적극 고려해야겠다. 현행 도덕교과서에서는 주로 중국의 원전과 중국의 인물들을 다루고 있다. 셋째, 다양한 전통종교를 고려해야겠다. 현행 도덕교과서의 독서성관련 자료는 주로 유교와 도교를 중심으로 선택되었다. 불교나 민족종교 등에 대한 관심도 점차 늘려나가야 할 것이다. 우리 한국의 한문 독서성은 선비들의 수양소리다. 따라서 오늘날 도덕교육을 위해 많은 시사점을 주고 있다. 다양한 방법을 동원하여 한국 전통 독서성을 복원하고, 이를 현대 도덕교육에 활용하는 노력을 게을리하면 안될 것이다.
