The goal of this study is to express in the formative language, the images of melody created by plant materials and musical object (guitar). Furthermore it is to provide an analysis of the formative qualities of the aforementioned objects through reviewing works chosen.For this study, a careful selection of plant materials and a guitar symbolizing beau-tiful melodies were chosen to express the image of melody and were used as a basic tool of representation and analysis of the artwork.The analytic viewpoint of the works consists of form, volume, texture and color. And the study based on these viewpoints is as follows:The plant materials and other objects were constructed in repetitive form to illu-strate systematic uniformity, stability and volume.By contrast of two different textures namely; the artificial yet soft quality of the guitar and the natural yet rough texture of plant materials; together they expressed the nature of life and unique character of floral forms.Dark brown coloring of plant materials and light colorings of Poinsettia and candles combined expressed simplicity and lightness in contrast to brightness.The movement of candles demonstrate the change of space as well as expressing the four dimensional spacing which symbolizes the mood of melody of the guitar.From the evaluation of study above, one can see that the plant materials and the guitar were successfully utilized to create expressions and images of melody through floral artwork. Furthermore it goes to prove the existence of formative effect of melody.

본 연구는 기타 오브제와 식물재료를 이용하여 멜로디의 이미지를 조형언어로 표현하고, 그 작품을 분석하여 기타 오브제와 식물재료에 의해 표현된 형태의 조형적 특성을 밝히는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다.본 연구는 멜로디의 이미지를 표현하기 위하여 아름다운 선율의 의미를 상징하는 기타 오브제와 식물재료들을 표현 매체로 선택하였고, 작품 표현과 작품 분석을 기본 도구로 하였다.작품의 분석 기준은 형태, 양감과 질감, 색채 등을 관점으로 하여 작품의 조형적 특성을 분석하였으며, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 기타 오브제와 식물재료들의 구성된 기타 이미지들을 반복 구성함으로써 형성된 질서 있는 형태로 통일감과 안정감을 나타내었으며, 소재의 반복과 중첩에 의하여 중량감을 나타내었다.기타 오브제의 인공적인 매끄러움과 식물재료들의 자연적인 거친 질감으로 질감대비를 강조하여 화예조형 특유의 생명성을 표현하였다.색채의 배색에 있어서 어두운 갈색 계열의 식물재료들과 밝은 색상의 포인세티아와 촛불이 이루는 명도대비에 의하여 명료성과 경쾌함을 함께 나타내었다. 촛불의 움직임에 의하여 공간의 변화가 강조됨과 동시에, 촛불의 움직임으로 기타 오브제에서 흘러나오는 선율을 형상화함으로써 4차원 공간의 세계를 표현하였다. 이와 같이 기타 오브제와 식물재료들에 의한 기타 이미지들로 멜로디를 형상화하는 조형적 효과를 실증하였다.
