As the existing flower art design has been based on its own shape beauty and its work and flower bowl or the interior installation design except for flower bowl have been relatively important, it is in the real condition that the recognition on the im-portance of interrelationship between flower art design and space in the exterior environment is unsatisfactory. Therefore, the goal of this study is to consider these interrelationships in producing flower art design based on the natural environment background and suggest the directions for background and space and visual and perceptional specialty as well as shape structure to be recreated into esthetic space in producing its work.The visual and perceptional specialty was divided into time point and height time point as visual factor and appreciation distance, movement line and approaching level as dynamic factor, and its theoretic formation and examples were suggested together. Background type in natural environment was classified into bottom type, projected figure type, sky type and background elements were classified into light and shadow, water, sand, snow, forest, rock and those examples including its elements were su-ggested. As a result of general analysis through theory and study research, this study suggested the spatial specialty and background element that flower art design should have in producing space based on natural environment, and the directions for visual and perceptional specialty to be recreated into esthetic space by harmonizing into the flower art design that visual and perceptional specialty was considered.

기존의 화예디자인은 작품 자체의 조형미에 중점을 두어왔고 작품과 화기 또는 화기를 배제한 실내에서의 설치디자인 비중이 크게 자리 잡고 있으므로 외부환경에서의 화예디자인과 공간과의 상호관련성에 대한 중요성과 인식이 미흡한 실정이다.그러므로 본 연구에서는 자연환경을 배경으로 한 화예디자인을 연출함에 있어서 이들의 상관관계를 살펴보고 작품을 연출함에 있어서 형태구성뿐만 아니라 배경과 공간 그리고 시지각적 특성이 조화를 이루어 심미적인 공간으로 재창출할 수 있도록 방향을 제시하고자 한다.시지각적 특성은 시각적 요소로서 시점, 높이시점으로, 동(動)적 요소로는 감상거리, 동선, 접근 정도로 나누어 세부적인 이론정립과 예를 함께 제시하였다.자연환경에서의 배경 유형을 바닥형, 입면형, 하늘형으로 분류하고, 배경의 재료로는 빛과 그림자, 물, 모래, 눈, 숲, 바위, 하늘 등으로 구분하여 그 요소의 특성과 함께 예를 제시하였다.이론과 사례조사를 통한 종합 분석 및 결과로 자연환경을 배경으로 한 공간 연출시 화예디자인이 갖추어야 할 공간특성과 배경의 요소, 시지각적 특성이 고려된 화예디자인으로 조화를 이루어 심미적 공간으로 재창출할 수 있도록 방향을 제시하였다.
