A study on behaviors of the make-up and cosmetics purchase about a girl’s high school students

The purpose of this study was to examine the behaviors of the make-up and cosmetics purchase about a girl’s high school students. This survey was conducted from Sept. to Oct. 2008 in a girl’s high school located Gwang-ju.As a general characteristics, shape of habitation was ‘own house’ 96.8% and a month for pocket money was ‘below a hundred thousand won’ 77.5%. As a characteristics of make-up behavior, the frequency of make-up was ‘one time per week’ which was the highest. The time of beginning a make-up was ‘while in high school’. The purpose of the make-up was ‘to supplement a fault of the face’ 40.7% which was the highest. Learning source for make-up technique was the highest ‘friend’ following ‘internet’ and satisfaction degree for make-up was ‘common’ which was the highest. As a characteristics of cosmetics purchase behavior, cosmetics purchase place was ‘cosmetic speciality store’ 80.0%, selection basis for cosmetic purchase was ‘ingredient and efficacy’ following ‘price’. Purchase cost for cosmetics per month was ‘below ten thousand’ which was the highest.An adolescent period is a important period during a growth process of human and at the same time have a many difficult development tasks. In the make-up behaviors and cosmetics purchase behaviors, reasonable consumption behaviors, experience and thinking have a meaning because it will be continued until adult.
