A newly developed D-Phenylalanine (D-Phe) imprinted composite membrane prepared by distributing D-Phe imprinted microbeads into DPhe imprinted membrane was used in the ultrafiltration (UF). A sandwich model was employed to ensure the uniform permeation flow in the
membrane assembly. UF was conducted by passing Phe racemic solution through the sandwich model of the membranes under 1 atm guage pressure. Permeate and retentate samples were collected and analyzed. Various parameters i.e., flux, adsorption capacity, adsorption selectivity, percent rejection, rejection selectivity, permeability coefficient, and
permselectivity of the composite and non-composite membranes were obtained. Composite imprinted membrane showed enhanced adsorption properties and decreased permselectivity. ReferencesN. Ul-Haq, T.
