Toxicity assessment of leachate of landfill

We performed bio-exposure-valuation about leachate from landfill of Gwangju area with a freshwater green algae, scenedesumus. sp. and water flea(Daphinia magna). Unjeongdong landfill which is elapsed five years after landfill expiration shows that LC50 of unfiltered leachate is 8% and LC50 of simply filtered leachate is 16%. Widesanitation-landfill which is filling-up now shows that LC50 of unfiltered leachate is 40% and LC50 of simply filtered leachate is not appeared. As the result, leachate of Unjeongdong landfill has stronger toxicity than that of Wide-sanitation-landfill. Bio-exposure-valuation of leachate of Unjeongdong landfill with water flea(Daphinia magna) shows that LC50 of unfiltered leachate is 1.25% and LC50 of simply filtered leachate is 3%. LC50 of unfiltered leachate of Wide-sanitationlandfill is come out 8% but LC50 of simply filtered leachate is not appeared because leachate had a role in a nutrition. PNEC(Prediction Noneffect Concentration) of unfiltered leachate of Unjeongdong landfill is deduced 0.00125%, simply filtered leachate is 0.003%. PNEC of unfiltered leachate of Wide-sanitation-landfill is 0.008%.
