This study is to analysis the characteristics on female juvenile delinquents sexual abuse and delinquency, and to provide the improvements of the treatment of them. A reseacher want to understand the unique experiences, related to victimization of female juvenile delinquents through this study. For this purpose, the reseacher analyzed the survey data on juvenile delinquency and victimization from 270 female and 290 male juvenile delinquents.Girls' sexual abuse in childhood is much greater than boys'. And girls were also early than boys at the beginning time of sexual abuse. Victim rates are most high in female subgroup experienced the prostitution. It suggests that girls' victimization are linked with subsequent delinquent behavior. Sexual abused girls were inclined to have more seriousness in a various delinquencies than the control group. They were at increased risk for prostitution. These findings suggest that the part of abused girls be getting to escalate to criminal offending. And they had a tendency to have a low self-esteem and physical health problems, and to consider suicide. It is that abused girls develop antisocial or delinquent lifestyles that persist into adulthood as serious criminal careers. It is necessary to provide gender-specific programs for abused girls such as specialized trauma treatment. Gender-specific programs must consider not only the risk factors leading girls to delinquency, but also the protective and mitigating factors that foster strengths in adolescent girls. These protective factors include ‘gender identity development’,‘positive relationships with women adults’,‘escalating self-esteem’,‘educating about sexuality’, etc.

이 글은, 신체적, 심리적, 성적 학대 경험과 같은 범죄피해 경험은 여자청소년이 범죄로 진입하게 되는 통로로 작용한다는 문제의식 속에서 여러 가지 학대 유형 중에서도 피해자에게 가장 심각하고 큰 상처를 입히게 되는 성적 학대에 집중하여 여자 비행청소년의 고유한 경험과 비행 특성을 분석하여, 여자청소년의 성적 학대 경험이 이후 범죄로 진입하는 경로에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지 살펴보았다. 이 논문에서는 한국형사정책연구원에서 수행한 [여자청소년의 비행과 처우에 관한 연구](최영신, 2005)에서 수집한 설문조자 자료를 활용하였는데, 이 자료는 연구대상을 비행청소년 집단으로 한정하고 비행청소년의 성별 비교가 가능하도록 소년보호처분을 받고 있는 집단을 중심으로 연구대상자를 선정하였다. 연구결과에 의하면, 여자비행청소년은 남자비행청소년에 비하여 성적 학대를 경험했던 비율이 현저하게 높으며, 낮은 자아존중감, 자살충동 등 범죄피해자로서의 특성을 드러낸다. 또한 성적 학대를 경험한 여자 비행청소년의 비행 특성은 성적 학대와 같은 범죄피해를 중지시키기 위한 중지전략으로서 범죄자 되기를 선택한다는 주장을 뒷받침하며, 대부분의 비행유형에서 심각성의 수준이 높고, 성비행의 심각성이 현저히 높게 나타난다. 이러한 분석결과는 여자비행청소년의 고유한 경험과 특성을 이해하고 이들의 교육과 처우 프로그램을 개발하는 데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다. 특히 성적 학대와 같이 범죄피해 경험을 갖고 있는 여자 비행청소년의 특성을 고려하여 여자 청소년의 개별적 필요와 욕구를 존중하는 처우가 이루어지길 기대한다.
