An Effect on Compressive Strength of the Cement Mortar and Specific Gravity by Storing Methods
초록
영어
If Portland cement is left in the air or stored in the ventilated container, its quality will be degraded because it reacts to moisture or carbon dioxide in the air. This phenomenon is called cement weathering. If cement is put into a burlap bag and kept in a storehouse for a long period, the one or two centimeter layer inside the bag is hardened and cannot be cracked by hands easily after one month or two. Cement weathering includes both hydration and carbonation, and cement particles are actually covered with the calcium carbonate layer, which reduces the cement compound reactivity.
This study intends to find out how much the moisture and carbon dioxide in the air affect cement compressive strength and specific gravity by changing their storing methods.
