A Study on the Effect of Apartment Building Arrangement on Solar Access
초록
영어
The results of previous studies suggest that it is difficult to make desirable improvements in solar access to buildings just with the current standard of the distance between apartment buildings, and some have criticized that constructing apartment buildings at regular intervals regardless of their arrangement type or orientation is substantially ineffective for securing adequate solar access. Thus, the current solar access assessment in a legal dispute about solar access right is performed in the manner of determining whether solar access right is assured on the basis of the sunlit area of an opening or measurement points for two successive hours or longer (Article 86 of the Enforcement Decree of the Building Act), or whether the total number of intermittent sunshine hours is 4 of 8 hours from 08:00 to 16:00 (sentenced by the Seoul High Court on Mar. 26, 1996, Judgement No. 94NA11806: final and conclusive judgement). In consideration for previous studies in which whether solar access right is assured or not was determined, it is considered that more objective studies are required concerning the actual range and duration
of solar access to the inside of a building through its openings.
