The purpose of this study is to suggest the model of Regional Innovation System for Self Localization focused on Jeonbuk Province. To achieve this purpose, the criterion for grouping the type of Regional Innovation System was selected such as Basic condition of Region, Size of space, Type of Industry. Statistical Data concerning to Jeonbuk Province was used to analysis the condition of Region. The Result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, Jeonbuk Province is the type of A wide area Locl Self-government Model so it is necessary to establish the R&D type of Regional Innovation System that manage the local economy and charge the research function. Second, the Model that can be accepted to Jeonbuk Province classified into the contents of task is the Demand Response Model.

본 연구는 지역마다 여건이 다르다는 것을 감안하여 전라북도를 중심으로 자립적 지방화를 달성하기 위한 지역의 여건에 부합되는 지역혁신체계의 유형을 도출하고, 그러한 유형의 지역혁신체계를 구축하기 위한 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 자립적 지방화의 개념과 구성요소를 고찰하고, 지역혁신체계의 다양성을 검토한 후, 지역혁신체계의 유형을 제시하고 전라북도의 여건을 분석하기위한 분석변수를 도출하여 전북의 여건을 분석하고 이에 부합하는 지역혁신체계의 유형은 무엇인지 밝히고 이를 구축하기 위한 내생적 조직의 결성전략과 방향을 제시하였다. 결론적으로 전라북도는 앞에서 분석한 Ⅳ유형의 광역자치단체 모델이기 때문에 지역경제의 관리 및 연구기능을 담당할 R&D형 지역혁신 체제 구축이 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 그리고 추구하는 사업의 내용에 따라 구분하였을 때 전라북도에 적용할 수 있는 모형은 전통산업 혁신 형 지역혁신 체제로서 수요대응 형이라고 할 수 있다.
