Antitumor Activity of Mineral Powder

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mineral powder(MP) on antitumor andantimetastatic activity. MP did not exhibit the any cytotoxic activity against U937, A549 and MDA-MB-231 cancercells in vitro. However, in vivo, MP exhibited a significant antitumor activity in BDF1 mice bearing Lewis lungcarcinoma cells(LLC) with inhibition rates of 46 and 23% at 200 and 100 mg/kg/day, respectively. Furthermore, inpulmonary colonization assay, MP exhibited the inhibitory effect of tumor colonization. From these results, it wasconcluded that MP had antitumor and antimetastatic activity suggesting its application for the prevention andtreatment of cancer.
