Assessment of Chemokine (C-C motif) Ligand 2 Gene Polymorphism in Korean Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients

초록

영어

To investigate the possible association between −2510A/G promoter polymorphism (rs1024611) ofchemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) gene and rheumatoid arthritis in Korean population. DNAs were obtained from192 Korean rheumatoid arthritis patients and 270 healthy controls. CCL2 genomic variants (−2510A/G polymorphism)were detected by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). The −2510A/Gpromoter polymorphism was not associated with rheumatoid arthritis [genotype frequency (P=0.710); allele frequency(P=0.813, OR=1.033, 95% CI=0.79−1.36)]. The −2510A/G promoter polymorphism is not associated withrheumatoid arthritis, suggesting −2510A/G promoter polymorphism is not a susceptibility factor in the development ofrheumatoid arthritis in Korean population. However, G allele is a major allele in Asian including Korean, whereas amajor allele in Caucasian and European is A. The ethnic difference is present in −2510A/G promoter polymorphism.
