The antioxidant of plum[Santarosa, Oishiwase] were measured for DPPH free radical scavenging activity and TBA method. The extract solution used methanol. The anti-inflammatory activity related to nitric oxide(NO) inhibition of the plum extracts that was measured by Griess assay while cytotoxicity were measured MTT assay from RAW 264.7 cell line. The DPPH free radical scavenging activity of between plums were as follows: Oishiwase extract was higher than Santarosa extract. All of extract from Santarosa were weak as compared to the standard on DPPH free radical scavenging activity and TBA value. But Santarosa showed strong inhibition in cell cytotoxicity. The result show that plum extract addition inhibits lipopolysaccharide(LPS) induced NO prodction in cytotoxicity in RAW 264.7 cells. These results suggest that various of plums can be considered as effective natural antioxidative materials in concurrence with
anti-inflammatory activity.
