Management of an Internationally Approved Testing Laboratory for Biodegradability

초록

영어

Compostability mark program is an integral part of the industrial recycling system. It enables biodegradable/compostable products to be identified by a unique mark for recovery of their constituent materials in proper ways. The compostability mark is given to final products to be sold, which can be raw materials, intermediates and additives, after proper testing for biodegradability by international certification bodies. It also has growing significance in business
sectors, since the program acts as non-tariff trade barriers in many countries. As one and unique laboratory approved by DIN(Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V., Germany) CERTCO in Korea, the Industrial Ecology Laboratory (IEL) in KITECH is performing biodegradability/compostability testings according to EN 13432, ASTM D 6400 and DIN V 54900. Based on these test results, DIN CERTCO decided whether the tested product will be approved and granted a compostability mark. Through systematic cooperation, KITECH IEL-DIN
CERTCO will provide domestic companies willing to sell products conforming to international standards to oversea markets with fast and reliable way of certification.
