This work is concerned with the distribution of English compounds in the elementary and middle school English textbooks made in accordance with the 2015 Revised National Curriculum of English. It will be shown first that considering in terms of tokens of words, the frequency of English compounds is significantly different from textbook to textbook, whether textbooks are for elementary students or middle school students. Given the four types of compounds, semantically transparent and familiar, transparent and novel, opaque and familiar, and opaque and novel, the distribution of these types of compounds is the same in the Elementary English Textbooks but significantly different in the Middle School English textbooks. The work is concluded with the ranks of compounds used in the Middle School English textbooks in their coefficient of usage, which measures their usefulness, with some pedagogical implications.
