태재 유방선은 조선 전기 우리 문학사에 상당한 영향을 미친 인물이다. 특히 시문학 분야에서 그의 영향이 적지 않다. 그러나 이와 같은 문학사적인 위상에도 불구하고 그에 관한 연구는 소략하기 그지없으며, 현재 전하는 그의 문집에 관한 구체적인 검토조차 이루어지지 않았다. 유방선의 문집 초간본과 중간본을 살펴보면 중간본은 초간본의 작품을 정리하여 편차를 달리하고, 여기에 부록을 첨부하여 5권 1책본을 5권 2책본으로 정리한 정리본임을 알 수 있다. 유방선의 문집 초간본과 중간본을 비교해보면 작품 배열의 차이 이외에는 초간본의 시 1제 5수가 중간본에서 누락된 것 이외에 다른 차이가 보이지 않는다. 이런 현상은 유방선의 문집 중간본이 초간본의 간행 이후 새로운 자료를 확보하지 못했지만, 초간본의 산일과 판본의 훼손, 정부의 서원 억제 정책과 송곡 서원 배향 인물간의 관계, 지방 유림의 공의 등 다양한 상황에 의해 간행된 것임을 보여준다.
Taejae YooBangseon had a significant impact on Korean literature during the early Joseon Dynasty. However, despite his importance in literary history, there is very little research on him, and no specific review has been conducted on his collection. When comparing the first and second editions of YooBangseon's collection, it is evident that the second edition is a summary of the five-volume 1 book, organized differently into five volume 2 books. The only difference between the works in the second edition and the first edition is the omission of one title and five poems, with the arrangement of the works being the main distinction. This indicates that the second edition of YooBangseon's anthology does not contain new data compared to the first edition. However, it was published due to various circumstances, such as damage to the first edition, the government's policy to suppress memorial halls for past scholars and loyal subjects, the relationship with the figures enshrined at Songgokseowon, and the opinions of local Confucian scholars.
