역사적으로 중국 이민족의 남하는 중국 대륙을 넘어 동남아시아권 언어에도 상당한 영향을 미쳤다. 그리고 많은 수의 한자어가 동남아시아 고유어 내에서 여전히 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 먼저, 본 연구에서는 일차자료의 부족이라는 근원적인 문제를 해결하기 위해 동남아시아 언어 중 베트남어와 태국어를 우선하여 한자 차용어 데이터 베이스를 구축하고자 했다. 다음으로, 본 연구에서 구축한 데이터베이스를 근거자료로 삼아 한자 차용어의 성조 수용과 대응 양상에 대해 심도 있는 분석과 연구를 진행하였다. 그리고 한자를 매개로 한 언어 접촉에서의 초분절음 자질 수용과 특징에 대해 이론적 해석과 객관적인 결과를 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 동남아시아권 언어의 한자 차용어 데이터베이스 구축의 필요성과 중요성을 다시금 상기시키고, 그동안 특정 언어와 특정 문헌에 국한되어 있었던 한어 접촉 연구의 범위를 확장할 수 있길 기대한다.
Historically, the southward movement of Chinese immigrants has had a significant impact on Southeast Asian languages beyond the Chinese continent. And a significant number of Chinese characters still occupy an important position in the indigenous languages of Southeast Asia. First, this study attempted to establish a database of Chinese loan words within Vietnamese and Thai among Southeast Asian languages to solve the fundamental problem of lack of primary data. Then, based on the database established in this study, an in-depth analysis and study were conducted on the tonal pattern of Chinese loan words. In addition, it was intended to present theoretical interpretations and objective results on the acceptance and characteristics of Suprasegmental features in language contact through Chinese characters. It is hoped that this study will remind us of the necessity and importance of establishing a database of Chinese characters in Southeast Asian languages and expand the scope of Chinese language contact research that has been limited to several languages or literatures.
