본고는 李漁의 소설 「譚楚玉」에서 희곡 『比目魚』로의 개작 양상을 고찰한 글이다. 원작 소설과 희곡을 비교해보면 희곡의 주요 인물들이 원작보다 더 윤리규범에 맞는 인물로 변화하였다. 내용 면에서는 원작보다 역동적인 내용과 장면들이 다수 포함되었으며, 원작의 소재인 사랑과 함께 보은에 대해 다루고 있다. 이러한 변화는 李漁의 개작 의도와 이어 희곡의 특징을 보여준다. 희곡은 개방된 장소에서 다양한 계층의 사람들이 관람하는 공연물이다. 때문에 소설을 희곡으로 개작하면서 역동적인 내용과 장면들이 많이 포함시켜 남녀노소의 흥미를 유발하려고 했다. 희곡은 다양한 계층의 사람들이 같은 공간에서 동시에 감상하기 때문에 교육의 수단이 될 수 있다. 그래서 가짜 慕容介로 인한 譚楚玉과 慕容介 간의 대립을 추가하고, 오해가 해소되는 과정에서 勸善懲惡과 報恩이라는 교훈을 담았다.
This paper is an analysis of the adaption from Li Yu’s novel TanChuyu to the drama Bimuyu . Compared to the original novel, the main characters of the drama have been transformed into more ethical characters than the original. It also contains a number of dynamic content and scenes than the original. In addition to the original material of love, it deals with another material called repayment. These changes reflect Li Yu’s intention in adapting the original work. The play is performed in an open space and appreciated by people of various social classes. Therefore, when adapting a novel into a drama, many dynamic contents and scenes were included to satisfy the tastes of the majority. In addition, play can be a means of education because many people watch it at the same time in one place. Therefore, the conflict between Tan Chuyu and Mu Rongjie caused by the fake Mu Rongjie was added, and the lessons of encouraging good deeds and punishing evil deeds and repaying gratitude were included in the process of resolving misunderstandings.
