이 논문은 김애란의 단편소설 ｢입동｣과 ｢노찬성과 에반｣에서 공유하는 교통사고로 인한 가족 상실의 문제에 주목하여 교통사고가 남은 가족들에게 끼치는 영향을 집의 장소성 문제로 접근한 글이다. 인물들은 가족을 잃는 데서 오는 상실감과 경제적 문제로 집의 장소성 변화를 경험한다. 두 편의 소설에서 가족을 잃은 인물들은 각각 ‘도배’와 ‘유기견 입양’이라는 행위를 통해 집의 장소성 회복의 가능성을 드러낸다. 이 과정에서 주요한 문제로 부각되는 것은 첫째, 자본주의적 가치가 집의 장소성에 관여한다는 사실이다. 둘째, 인물들의 상실감 극복과 집의 장소성 회복의 전환점으로서 제시되는 진정한 공감과 소통의 가치이다. 김애란 소설은 자본주의 현실에 대한 인식을 바탕으로 진정한 공감의 가치와 가족의 중요성을 서사화함으로써 집의 본원적 가치 복원을 도모한다.
This study attempts to explain the placeness of house through the stories of Kim Ae-ran's novel "Ipdong" and "Noh Chan-sung and Evan" who lost their families in accidents. Characters experience a change in the placeness of house due to the loss of their families and economic problems. In the two works, those who have lost their families reveal the possibility of restoring the placeness of house through the acts of 'wallpaper' and 'adopting abandoned dogs'. The important issue, first, the fact that capitalist values are involved in the placeness of the house. Second, it is the value of genuine empathy and communication that allows characters to overcome family loss and restore the placeness of house. Kim Ae-ran's novel aims to restore the fundamental value of the house by narrating the value of empathy and communication as an alternative to overcoming the placelessness in a capitalist society.
