This article tracks the occupational classes of Artisan listed in census registers such as Hojeokjungcho of Dongseongri to examine the changes in occupational classes and household composition by their period. In the late Joseon Dynasty, the ecupational classes of Artisan in Jeju became the subject of the avoiding of labors as a lower class comer. If he did not fulfill his duty, he was in trouble, and he was also in charge of being demoted, and even took charge of the exile. In the late 18th century, the status of the Artisan householder recorded in the Dongseongri'census register was mostly Gongnobi (public servant) and was also composed of local military. They took charge of their work as soon as they were born, and even when they were over 60 years old, they could not get out of work. None of them have risen to Yangban status. Jijang(紙匠) is one of Six obliged labors, and at that time, Jeju needed a considerable amount of paper because it had to handle government paper and paper identification cards in addition to the paper used for book publication and Hojeokjungcho. Artisan in Jeju in the late Joseon Dynasty was a poor social position, but their role seems to have never been small.
