본 연구는 고가도로의 하부공간을 재생하여 모노즈쿠리 공간으로 장소성을 획득한 일본의 2k540의 사회문화적 함의를 논의하는 데 목적을 둔다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 2k540을 사이공간으로 바라보고 이론적인 논의를 하였다. 사이공간은 공간과 공간의 사이에 위치하여 경계, 틈, 중간 등의 물리적 구분에 한정된 의미를 내포한다. 하지만 인문학적 관점으로 사이공간을 바라보면 기존의 의미를 새롭게 확장할 수 있다. 사이공간은 불확정성을 지닌 모호성의 공간이지만 이로 인해 공간에 활력을 불어넣는 가능성을 지니며, 양쪽의 공간의 이질적인 성질을 이어줌과 동시에 단절을 중재하는 역할을 한다. 따라서 사이공간은 연결, 매개, 중재, 전이 등을 특징을 지닌다. 이러한 이론적 논의를 토대로 2k540의 조형성, 주체, 의미작용을 기호학적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 2k540은 순수함의 공간이며, 그 주체는 장인 정신을 추구하고, 이는 현대사회를 표상하는 기업가 정신과의 대립을 통해 의미작용이 발생한다. 분석 결과를 토대로 2k540의 사회적 함의를 논의하였다. 2k540은 일본의 장신 정신을 계승하는 공간이다. 두 번째로, 2540은 대립적인 의미를 지닌 공익과 사익을 중재하고 공존하는 공간이며, 아트노믹스라는 의미를 함축한 공간이다. 결국, 사이공간으로써 2k540은 과거와 현대, 공간과 공간, 사람과 사람, 지역과 지역을 연결하는 매개 공간이다.
The purpose of this study is to discuss the social and cultural implications of Japan's 2k540 that acquired placeness as a Monozukuri space by regenerating the lower space of the overpass. To this end, this study looked at 2k540 as an In-between space and discussed theoretically. The In-between space is located between space and space, and has limited meanings for physical distinctions such as boundaries, gaps, intermediate, and ambiguity. However, looking at the In-between space from a humanities perspective, the existing meaning can be newly expanded. The In-between space is a space of ambiguity with uncertainty, but it has the potential to revitalize the space, and plays a role in mediating the disconnection while connecting the disparate nature of the space on both sides. Therefore, the In-between space is characterized by connection, mediation, and transition. Based on these theoretical discussions, the formativeness, subject, and signification of 2k540 were analyzed semiotically. As a result of the analysis, 2k540 is a space that inherits the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship. Second, 2k540 is a space that mediates and coexists with the public interest and private interests with opposite meanings. It is also a space that implies the meaning of artnomics. After all, as an In-between space, 2k540 is an intermediate space that connects the past and the present, space to space, person to person, and region to region.
