陽菴 柳芝赫은 毅堂 朴世和와 晦堂 尹膺善을 수학한 堤川의 지식인으로 4권 4책의 『陽菴集』을 남겼다. 양암은 巖棲齋에서 講學하며 後進을 養成했을 뿐 아니라 屛山影堂을 創建하여 毅堂學 繼承에 앞장섰다. 「衣食箴」과 「讀書箴」에는 外物 認識과 學問觀의 단서가 보이고, 朱熹․宋時烈․朴世和․尹膺善의 畫像贊에는 學統 認識이 드러난다. 더욱이 堤川의 산수자연을 형상화한 작품이 대다수인데, 「大社九巖樵歌」․「大活山齋八觀」․「九龍五洞壯觀詩」가 대표적이다. 이 밖에도 毅堂學과 관련한 내용은 ‘分韻作詩’의 詩作과 挽詞로 표출되는 바, 당시 毅堂學派의 계승 양상을 보여주는 사례이다. 한마디로 요약하면, 양암은 ‘克己復禮’․‘遏人慾存天理’․‘尊華攘夷’․‘衛正斥邪’의 유가적 이념을 몸소 실천한 學者이자, ‘傷時憂道’․‘慷慨壹鬱’을 詩文으로 형상화한 文人이라 하겠다.


Yangam Ryu Ji-hyeok was an intellectual of Jecheon where Uidang Park Se-hwa and Hoedang Yoon Eng-seong and has left 『Yangam-jip』󰡕in 4-volume and 4-book. Yangam not only lectured in his Amseojae in a way of nurturing his pupils, but also established Byeongsan Youngdang to lead the succession of Uidanghak. In 「Uisik-jam」 and 「Dokseo-jam」, there are clues of recognition of external materials and view on academics, while Hwasangchan of Juhee Song Si-yeol, Park Se-hwa and Yoon Eng-seon displayed the recognition of academic lineage. Furthermore, the works are mostly formulated for natural splendor of Jecheon, with representative works of 「Daesa Guamchoga」․ 「Daehwalsanjaepalgwan」 and 「Guryongodongjanggwansi」. In addition, the contents related to Uidang-hak are expressed in its begnning and ending of ‘Bunwunjaksi’ that it would serve as the case of demonstratng the succession trend of Uidang-hak faction of the time. In summary, Yangam was the scholar to personally demonstrate his Confucius ideals of ‘Geukgibokrye’, ‘Alinyokjoncheonroe’, ‘Jonhwayangi’ and ‘Wijeongcheoksa’ as well as a literari man who symbolized ‘Sangsiwudo’ and ‘Ganggaeilwol’ in its poetry and literature.
