본 논문에서는 1987년 노동자 대투쟁 이후 1990년대 중공업 대공장에서 이루어진 기업문화운동 및 중공업 가족 만들기 기획을 통해 노동자들이 ‘타협적’이게 되었다는 기존의시각을 비판적으로 참조하고자 한다. 1990년대의 ‘기업문화운동’은 지역-노동자-기업을 하나의 가족으로 동일화시키며 ‘행복한 노동자’가 가장인 ‘꿀맛나는 가정’이라는 이상을 제시하였다. 그 과정에서 노동자 부인에게 ‘남편을 잘 내조하는 교양있는 부인’의 상을 제시하지만, 노동자 부인들은 그러한 ‘교양’을 통해 기업이 만든 공동체 내의 소속된 일원으로서몫을 요구하고, 기업에 가족의 책임을 묻는 등 ‘교양’과 ‘내조’에 균열을 내었다. 이를 통해노동자 계급이 ‘타협적’이고 ‘개량적’인 ‘노동 귀족’이 되어갔다고 여겨지는 1990년대의 상황 속에서 노동자 가족들이 기업 가족 만들기라는 기획을 단순하게 수용하는 것이 아니라어떠한 균열을 만들어내었는지 분석하였다. 이를 산업도시 거제의 대우조선을 배경으로하여 대우조선의 사보인 희망90s, 그리고 대우조선 노동조합의 노보인 옥포노보 (새벽을 여는 함성)을 통해 분석해보았다.
In this paper, I critically refer to the existing view that workers became ‘compromised’ through the corporate culture movement and the heavy industry family-making initiative in the 1990s, when the labor movement centered on large factories continued until the early 1990s after the outbreak of the Great Workers’ Struggle in 1987. I would like to see how the ‘Corporate Culture Movement’ presented an image of workers/citizens by creating a family of locals, workers, and companies, and how women as spouses are reconstructed in the gender relations created by the state, corporations, patriarchs, and men. It is not just about the working class becoming a consumer with purchasing power, owning a car, and owning an apartment, but rather, the conservative qualities, intimacy, and sense of community that the working class possesses have become the foundation for capital to be embraced and sometimes cracked. In this context, this paper will examine how working families did not simply accept the idea of creating a corporate family, but created a rift in the 1990s, when the working class was thought to have become a ‘labor aristocracy’ that was ‘compromised’ and ‘improved’. Against the backdrop of Daewoo Shipbuilding in the industrial city of Geoje, I will examine the ‘Hope 90s’ movement, the corporate culture movement of Daewoo Shipbuilding, and its newsletter Huimang90s, as well as the labor union’s newsletter Okponobo(Saebyeogeul yeoneun hamseong) (새벽을 여는 함성).
