본 연구의 목적은 연세대 도서관 소장의 필사본 ≪장수경언해≫를 소개하고, 그 표기와 음운 현상을 살펴보는 데에 있다. 본고의 2장에서는 문헌의 서지 사항을 조사하여 밝히고, 3장에서는 연철·분철·중철, 종성 ‘ㅅ, ㄷ’의 표기, 초성의 병서 표기, 어두 ‘ㄹ, ㄴ’의 표기, ‘ㆍ, ㆎ’ 표기에 대해 논하였으며, 4장에서는 j-탈락, 전설 모음화, 고모음화, 원순모음화 등의 음운 현상을 검토하였다. 아울러 이본 간의 비교를 통해 19·20세기에 간행된 ≪장수경언해≫ 이본들의 제작 순서를 B본(필사본 1898), C본(목판본 1918), E본(연대본/필사본 1931), D본(필사본 20세기)의 순으로 추정하였다.
The purpose of this study is introduce the manuscript of Jangsugyeong-eonhae in the collection of Yonsei University Library and examine it from a linguistical point of view. Chapter 1 introduces the purpose and necessity of the study. Chapter 2 investigates the bibliographic details of the literature. In Chapter 3, the orthography of this book are discussed by dividing them into Yeoncheol(sound based spelling)‧Jungcheol(double Spelling)‧Buncheol(separating spelling), ‘ㅅ’ and ‘ㄷ’ in the coda position, consonant clusters in the onset position, initial law and ‘ㆍ, ㆎ’. In Chapter 4, phonological phenomena are examined by dividing them into a diphthong after sibilants, vowel raising, vowel fronting, vowel rounding, and so on. Chapter 5, the conclusion, summarizes the key findings of this study. Through this research it is assumed that the different versions of Jangsugyeong-eonhae were published in the order B(1898), C(1918), E(1931), and D(20th cent.).
