이 연구는 미쉬나와 토셉타에 반영된 성전 회복 기대를 중심으로 두 문헌(전승) 사이의 관계를 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 먼저 미쉬나와 토셉타에 어떤 성전 회복 기대가 나타나는지 확인하고 각각의 대조 본문은 어떻게 편집되었는지를 확인한다. 이를 위해 미쉬나의 마세켓 중에서 마아세르 쉐니 5.2, 페싸힘 10.6, 타아닛 4.8, 아봇 5.20, 타미드 7.3와 토셉타의 마세켓 중에서 트루모트 10.15, 샤밧 1.13, 로쉬 하샤나 2.9, 소타 15.15, 바바 바트라 2.17, 메나홋 13.23이 다뤄지고 그 대조 본문들의 특징을 분석한다. 미쉬나가 이 땅에서의 빠른 재건을 통한 성전 회복만을 기대하는 것과 달리 토셉타는 내세에서의 성전 회복에 대한 기대를 함께 반영한다. 전통적인 입장에 따라 토셉타가 미쉬나의 추가적인 역할을 하는 전승이라면(타아닛 4.8) 미쉬나의 해석을 대체하는 토셉타의 대조본문을 이해하기 어렵다(타아니욧트 3.14). 마찬가지로 토셉타가 미쉬나 보다 앞선다는 수정설은 토셉타의 성전 회복 기대를 미쉬나가 모두 수정내지는 삭제한 이유를 설명하기 어렵다. 결론적으로 다양한 성전 회복 전승을 반영한 초기 미쉬나가 있었고(절충설), 이를 미쉬나와 토셉타가 각각 자신들의 목적에 따라 취사선택한 것으로 이해하는 것이 가장 합리적인 추론이 된다.
This research aims to analyze the relationship between the Mishnah and the Tosefta in terms of the expectation for the temple restoration imbedded in these documents(traditions). Most of all, it confirms what kind of expectation is included in each document and attempts to understand in which way each text in parallel was edited. In this sense the following tractates are analyzed: Maaser Sheni 5.2, Pesachim 10.6, Taanit 4.8, Abot 5.20, Tamid 7.3 in the Mishnah; Terumot 10.15, Shabbat 1.13, Rosh ha-Shanah 2.9, Sotar 15.15, Baba Batra 2.17, Menachot 13.23 in the Tosefta. While the Mishnah contains only the hope that the Temple will be immediately rebuilt in this world, the Tosefta includes the expectation that the Temple will be restored in the world to come in addition to the Mishnah’s tradition. If the Tosefta is the addition to the Mishnah(the traditional theory), it is not easy to explain why the Tosefta replace the Mishnah’s tradition in Taanit 4.8 with its own tradition in Taaniyot 3.14. Likewise, if the Tosefta predates the Mishnah(the revised theory), it is hard to explain why the Mishnah deleted all the expectations for the Temple restoration in the world to come in the Tosefta. In conclusion, it is more reasonable to infer the compromised theory that there was the Ur-Mishnah bearing various traditions and the Mishnah and the Tosefta edited this source with their own purpose.
