1차 로잔대회가 열린 후 50년 즉 희년이 되는 2024년 9월 22일부터 28일까지 송도 컨벤시아에서 ‘Let the church declare and display Christ together’(교회로 하여금 함께 그리스도를 선포하고 나타내게 하라)라는 주제로 제4차 대회가 개최될 예정이며, 이 대회에는 전 세계로부터 교회 지도자 약 5천여 명이 참여할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이와 같은 역사적 대회를 바라보면서 이 글은 이번 로잔 4차 대회를 향하여 제언을 하는 것이며, 이것은 주마가편(走馬加鞭) 즉 잘 준비되고 있는 로잔 4차 대회가 더 좋은 대회가 되기를 바라는 마음에서 나온 것이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제기하는 내용은 크게 세 가지 즉 1) 로잔이 WCC와 차별화된 로잔만의 분명한 정체성을 확립할 것, 2) 로잔이 추구하는 선교 개념을 보다 명료하게 할 것, 3) 로잔이 세계복음화를 위해 종합적이면서도 실제적인 역할을 감당해줄 것 등을 제언한다. 이러한 제언은 로잔의 풍성한 관점을 제대로 이해하지 못하고 어느 한쪽만을 강조하면서, 선교를 너무 복음화 측면에서만 편협하게 강조하는 것으로 비칠 수 있다. 하지만 현재 기독교는 상당한 위기에 처한 것이 사실이다. 서구는 동성애 등의 세속화로 복음 열정을 상실하고 교회들이 약화한 지 오래고, 이슬람과 공산권 등은 복음을 강하게 거부하고 핍박하고 있다. 이런 상황에서 이 글은 로잔만이라도 세계 복음화 문제에 더욱 분명하게 집중해주기를 기대하는 마음에서 나온 것이라 할 수 있다.

From September 22 to 28, 2024, 50 years (the Jubilee Year) since the first Lausanne Congress was held, Lausanne will hold the 4th congress at the Songdo Convensia with a theme 'Let the church declare and display Christ together.‘ In anticipation of a successful hosting of this congress, I would like to suggest some suggestions. This can be said to have come from the hope that the 4th Lausanne congress, which are being well prepared, will become better event. There are three main points raised in this study: 1) Lausanne should establish its own clear identity that differentiates it from the WCC, 2) Lausanne should clarify the concept of mission it pursues, and 3) Lausanne should suggest that it play a comprehensive yet practical role for world evangelization. This suggestion may be seen as narrowly emphasizing only mission in terms of evangelization, emphasizing only one side without a proper understanding Lausanne's rich perspective. However, Christianity is currently in a significant crisis. The West has lost its passion for the gospel and its churches have weakened due to secularization such as homosexuality, and Islam and the communist world are strongly rejecting and persecuting the Christians. In this situation, I hope that Lausanne will focus more clearly on the issue of world evangelization.
