In this study, we developed and implemented an AI-unplugged integrated educational program based on play for the elementary school science unit 'Life cycle of animal'. We investigated the impact of this program on students' science academic achievement and scientific inquiry abilities. To achieve this, we designed the program's content structure based on the elements of the 'Life cycle of animal' unit and the AI content guidelines. We then created a preliminary version of the program by devising effective unplugged AI play activities for animal observation and classification instruction. Through expert delphi validation, we verified the program's validity and finalized it for application in the classroom. As a result of the study, a total of 11 programs were developed, and as a result of applying the developed program, it was found that it had a positive effect on improving science academic achievement and scientific inquiry ability. Moreover, the program developed in this research has the advantage of integrating the learning contents related to animal observation, classification, and inference in the elementary science life domain with AI-related learning content in information education. As a result, it cultivates students' science academic achievement and scientific inquiry abilities effectively.
