이 글은 국립한글박물관에 소장된 한글 필사본 『규곤의측』의 말미에 부록처럼 실려 있는 고전소설 「공ᄌᆞ동ᄌᆞ문답기」를 학계에 소개하고, 이에 대해 서지·국어학적 고찰을 진행한 것이다. 본고는 다음의 점에 주목하여 이 글을 분석하였다. 첫째, 『규곤의측』에 나타나 있는 ‘광셔’(光緖)와 ‘을묘’(乙卯)라는 두 가지 단서를 활용하여 이 글의 필사 시기를 밝혔다. 둘째, 「공ᄌᆞ동ᄌᆞ문답기」의 이야기 구성 순서를 분석하여 이 글과 가장 친연성이 높은 이본을 확인하였다. 셋째, 「공ᄌᆞ동ᄌᆞ문답기」에 나타나는 음운·어휘론적 현상을 분석함으로써 이 글의 필사 지역을 추정하였다. 넷째, 어말어미의 사용 양상을 기준으로 문법론적 특징을 밝히고 의고적 표현이 사용되고 있는 배경을 논하였다. 이와 같은 고찰을 통해 「공ᄌᆞ동ᄌᆞ문답기」의 자료적 가치를 밝히고, 20세기 초기 국어의 특징이 드러날 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 국어학계와 고전문학계가 함께 공유할 수 있는 1차 자료의 확충에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
This paper introduces the classic novel Dispute between Confucius and a Child(孔子童子問答記), which is included as an appendix at the end of the Korean manuscript 『Gyugonuicheuk』, housed at the National Hangeul Museum, to the academic world, and conducts a bibliographic and Korean linguistic study of it. This paper analyzed this article by paying attention to the following aspects. First, by using two clues, 'Gwangseo'(光緖) and 'Eulmyo(乙卯)', which appear in Gyugonuicheuk, the time of writing this article was revealed. Second, by analyzing the narrative structure of 孔子童子問答記, the version with the highest affinity to this text was identified. Third, by analyzing phonological and lexical phenomena appearing in 孔子童子問答記, the transcription area of this article was estimated. Fourth, based on the usage patterns of sentence-ending particles, grammatical features were identified, and a discussion was conducted on the background of their usage in conservative expressions. Such consideration will reveal the material value of 孔子童子問答記 and contribute to the expansion of primary data that can be shared by both the Korean language and the classical literature community.
